Have you given much thought to who your teachers are? Why did you choose the people you have listened to? Does it matter? Jesus was told one time that the Pharisees were offended by His teaching. He responded, "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."

I don’t know who originally wrote this but I know Rick Warren and Chuck Swindoll have quoted someone that said, “Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air…but only for one second without hope.”

“Melchizedek Again?” I enjoy the writings of Warren Wiersbe. In commenting on Hebrews 7, he reminds that reading the Bible is sometimes like watching or reading a mystery. We should never take a character too lightly! Reading Genesis 14, you would not think Melchizedek was a very important character, but understanding his place in the Biblical story is very applicable to our need.

“Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.” That’s a form of child-hood legal speak. A contractual agreement that truth is being told. Jesus said our “yes should be yes and our no should be no,” but even among the best of people, contracts are signed and formal agreements are filed. Did you know that God swore an oath?

People lose things all the time. The more we have, the harder it is to keep track of things. We lose phones, keys, remotes, kids, money; but can we lose our salvation?
