Quite a Week!

Whew! The Calvary family has been “up and at it” this week. Over 125 children attended VBS. 40 teens and adults served in various capacities. Over ten children accepted Christ as Savior. If you didn’t get to see the castle, the artwork, the costumes and the dramas, you missed out on some amazing displays of giftedness and God-given talent used for His glory. I preached at Lincoln Lake Camp this past week. There were over 95 campers. Many of our teens and young adults are serving all summer at camp in various capacities from kitchen staff to counselors. Teen campers were saved this week, other teens made significant life decisions as they interacted with God’s Word. Another Super Saturday is planned for next Saturday. The logistics and personnel to do this require hours of recruitment and personnel. Even if you don’t stay to help, drive by a Super Saturday event and see the action; it’s beautiful to see the body of Christ in motion. All that I’ve written so far doesn’t include all the quiet, behind the scenes ministry that many of you do every week. Countless acts of love for one another, both in and out of the family of God, are known to Him and will be rewarded. We are so blessed to have the resources, personnel, leadership and energy to serve our Lord and our community in these ways. As you read this, I trust you are thanking Him for the precious gift of His Spirit which makes life and really living possible. And, if you are investing financially through your tithes and offerings, I hope you know your dividends are “further up and further in.”
